MassMutual Foundation Donates $25,000 to Dana-Farber in Recognition of CFG's Community Impact
The MassMutual Foundation has donated $25,000 to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on behalf of Commonwealth Financial Group (CFG), recognizing the firm with its 2026 Platinum Firm Community Service Award for its commitment to philanthropy. The highest honor presented through the Foundation’s national Firm Community Service Awards program, the award celebrates CFG’s efforts surrounding the Run to Remember Brandi 5K, which brought the firm’s community together to honor the memory of Brandi Connor and support cancer research and patient care.
Established in memory of Brandi Connor, wife of CFG Chief Financial Officer Justin Connor, the Run to Remember Brandi 5K began as a tribute and quickly grew into a firm-wide effort fueled by the support of advisors, staff, clients, family members, and friends. The event raised more than $35,000 for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund, with more than 100 volunteers contributing over 200 hours to planning and executing the race.
The event's impact extended far beyond fundraising. For many participants, the race provided an opportunity to honor Brandi's legacy, support the Connor family, and rally around a cause that has touched so many lives. At Justin Connor's request, proceeds from the event were designated to support the work of Dr. Sands, Brandi's physician, whose research focuses on the specific form of cancer she battled.

The Platinum Firm Community Service Award recognizes not only the success of the Run to Remember Brandi 5K, but also the spirit of compassion, generosity, and community that made it possible. Commonwealth Financial Group is honored to receive this recognition from the MassMutual Foundation and looks forward to continuing the event as an annual tradition, carrying forward Brandi's memory while supporting the lifesaving work of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
