A Run to Remember: Honoring Brandi’s Legacy with Every Step

New Hampshire community gathers in heartfelt tribute to celebrate a life of love and raise $35,000 in the fight against cancer

On a crisp autumn morning in Mine Falls Park, Nashua, NH, more than 150 runners, walkers, and supporters came together for a cause. The “Run to Remember Brandi” 5K, held on Sunday, October 26, was more than a race; it was a tribute to a life beautifully lived and a powerful reminder of the strength found in community.

Hosted by Commonwealth Financial Group in honor of its Chief Financial Officer, Justin Connor’s wife, Brandi, the event marked the culmination of remembrance and resilience. Brandi passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind an enduring legacy of love, kindness, and inspiration. Humble, thoughtful, and extraordinary in every role she played – as a daughter, wife, and mother – Brandi touched the lives of all who knew her. Her memory now lives on in the hearts of many and in the steps taken toward a future without cancer.

The 5K welcomed friends, family, colleagues, and members of the local community to run, walk, or cheer in support. The energy was palpable, filled with laughter, tears, and stories shared along the course. It was a day of unity, remembrance, and hope.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of participants and donors, the event raised $35,000 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund, organizations dedicated to advancing cancer research and supporting patients and families. The MassMutual Foundation contributed an honorary $5,000 donation as part of its Live Mutual Week, amplifying the impact of the event and reinforcing the firm’s commitment to causes that matter.

In honor of Brandi, the firm has announced plans to make the “Run to Remember Brandi” an annual event each October. It will serve as a lasting tribute and a rallying point for continued support in the fight against cancer.

As the sun set on Mine Falls Park, the message was clear: Brandi’s legacy lives on. Not only in the memories of those who loved her, but in the collective steps taken toward hope, healing, and a cure.
