Commonwealth Financial Group Receives The Platinum Award for This Year’s MassMutual Foundation Firm Community Service Awards
On behalf of Commonwealth Financial Group (CFG), we are delighted to announce a generous $25,000 donation has been made from the MassMutual Foundation to Gnome Surf in support of their impactful philanthropic initiatives and volunteer endeavors. This recognition underscores CFG's commitment to contributing to the transformative mission of Gnome, which is providing life-changing surf therapy, art therapy, yoga, and eco-therapy experiences for children and families from diverse backgrounds, including those on the autism spectrum, with Down syndrome, and LGBTQ+ youth.
CFG takes immense pride in partnering with Gnome, and this significant donation will play a pivotal role in advancing Gnome's strategic growth plan. Since the inception of our partnership, Gnome's reach has expanded from one beach to four across New England. Looking ahead, Gnome aspires to establish a location in Costa Rica, ensuring the continuation of surf lessons throughout the year.

Firm CSA winners are selected through a competitive application process, based on a holistic view of the firm’s community engagement strategy and volunteer work with nonprofit organizations. Our financial planners and staff have actively participated in various therapeutic and fundraising events, attended camps with their families, sponsored initiatives, and made personal donations to Gnome on multiple occasions. Notably, Jeff Carey, one of CFG's top advisors, along with his wife, Judy Carey, hold board positions at Gnome, and their daughter is an active volunteer.
