MassMutual Foundation Recognizes Chloe McKee for Advancing Support for Families Living with Type 1 Diabetes

Type One Fitness, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families affected by type 1 diabetes, has been selected to receive a $10,000 Gold Award donation from the MassMutual Foundation through its national Community Service Awards (CSA) program. This honor recognizes the outstanding volunteer service of financial advisor Chloe McKee, whose leadership and commitment have made a meaningful impact on the T1D community.

Since becoming involved in 2022, Chloe has played an active role in strategic planning, fundraising support, educational programming, donor engagement, and community outreach initiatives. In addition to supporting the organization’s long-term growth efforts, Chloe also developed and led financial wellness workshops that combined mindfulness and financial education to help attendees better manage financial stress and build long-term stability. Proceeds from her workshops directly supported Type One, Inc.’s Type One Cares Campaign.

Chloe’s motivation is deeply personal: “I serve because I do not want other families to experience loss that could have been prevented with the right support in place. This cause represents prevention instead of regret, education instead of confusion, and community instead of isolation. No one should feel alone navigating a chronic illness. No family should be without guidance, and that belief drives my commitment.”

The $10,000 Gold Award donation will advance three key areas of Type One, Inc.’s mission:

  • Direct Relief: Support for insulin, diabetes supplies, transportation to medical appointments, and food access for families facing financial hardship through the Type One Cares Campaign.

  • Scholarships: Funding for the 2026 Type One Cares Scholarships, awarded to graduating students living with T1D.

  • Youth Empowerment: Initial funding for the new T1D Youth Empowerment Program, focused on mentorship, leadership development, and education for young people in the T1D community.

Co-founder Paul Foti shared the significance of this investment: “This donation allows us to take meaningful action by supporting families in need today, investing in students this season, and building impactful programming for the future. Your investment strengthens our mission and brings us closer to a world where those living with type 1 diabetes are fully supported, empowered, and never alone.”

At Commonwealth Financial Group, we believe the qualities that define an exceptional advisor, such as empathy, leadership, integrity, and genuine care for others, are the same qualities that drive meaningful community impact. Chloe embodies all of them. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and grateful to the MassMutual Foundation for honoring the volunteer contributions of financial professionals to organizations like these.
