MassMutual Foundation Honors Community Contributions of Sam Paul with $5K Donation for Expanding Youth Access to Biking

We are proud to announce that Mutt Society has been awarded a $5,000 donation from MassMutual as part of its national Community Service Award program. This recognition celebrates the exceptional volunteer leadership of our Managing Director, Sam Paul, whose dedication to expanding access to biking for underserved youth has made a meaningful difference in his community.

Mutt Society was founded on a straightforward but powerful premise: that biking can change a child's life. The organization works to provide young people with access to cycling as a vehicle for physical health, emotional resilience, and personal growth — opportunities that many children simply do not have.

Since 2023, Sam has served as both Fundraising Chair and board member of Mutt Society. In that time, he helped build the organization's first formal fundraising infrastructure from the ground up — developing a corporate outreach plan, creating a system to track donor relationships, and establishing sponsorship tiers that brought new consistency and accountability to the organization's growth. Sam also played a key role in supporting community partnerships, including a collaboration with GiveDuro and "The Vets," a volunteer-run mountain bike park, that resulted in a community race event drawing 50 to 100 participants of all ages and backgrounds.

"Biking is not just recreation. It is access to confidence. It is a space to grow stronger, both mentally and physically. It is a reminder that your body and mind are capable of more than you think. Everyone deserves the chance to discover a passion that is theirs alone." — Sam Paul, Managing Director, Commonwealth Financial Group

Sam's connection to Mutt Society is deeply personal. He has been an avid cyclist for most of his life, and he joined the organization precisely because he has experienced firsthand what biking can offer — clarity of mind, physical challenge, and a sense of resilience that carries over into every area of life. As a Managing Director running his own practice, mentoring new advisors, and leading a growing team, Sam brings that same sense of discipline and presence to his work at CFG.

This $5,000 grant will go directly toward Mutt Society's mission of getting more kids on bikes and building the programs needed to sustain that work over time. For an organization still establishing its operational foundation, this investment represents a meaningful step forward.

At Commonwealth Financial Group, we believe that the qualities that define exceptional advisors — integrity, consistency, and genuine investment in the people around them — are the same qualities that drive meaningful community impact. Sam's commitment to Mutt Society is a reflection of exactly that. We are honored to support advisors who give back with the same thoughtfulness and dedication they bring to their clients.

Congratulations, Sam, and thank you for helping build stronger communities and brighter futures. We also extend our sincere gratitude to MassMutual for their continued commitment to recognizing and investing in the community contributions of advisors across the country. Programs like this amplify the impact of those who serve, and we are grateful to be part of it.
